For more information on how to accurately measure your finger size, please refer to our Ring Sizing Guide.

Drakkars, also known as longboats, were Viking ships for sailing and quick maneuvering. Despite many instances of drakkars being used to travel across seas and oceans, their main use always remained being able to traverse rivers and shallow shore waters. That way Vikings could land and embark quickly, and could lose pursuit from a larger ship efficiently by running over shallow water.

The ring i ordered is not silver as my finger goes green

Hi Carl,

Thank you for your feedback, however the ring is indeed made out of sterling silver. Please see below for more information about the sterling silver alloy and green finger mark that it may cause at first.

Sterling silver is an alloy of 92.5% silver and 7.5% of other metals, predominantly copper, that can oxidize (tarnish) if in contact with an acidic surface or substance. Unfortunately it means that any sterling silver jewelry piece can cause a green finger issue given the circumstance, and the largest perpetrator of causing green fingers these days is applying acidic alcohol based product (i.e. some of the hand creams or hand sanitizers) before wearing the ring. The acidic substance causes the copper in sterling silver to oxidize, leaving a green mark on the finger as a result.

Sterling silver with copper is a staple alloy used by most jewelers around the world as it is considered to be the safest sterling silver alloy that does not cause any allergic reactions. While getting a green finger can be at times nasty, it is not hazardous to anyone's health or a sign of an allergic reaction. It should also not be a thing that continuously happens when wearing the ring, and you should stop getting green finger imprint after several days of wearing the ring if it does happen at first.

While it should not be an issue that is regularly experienced with a sterling silver jewelry piece, it can very occasionally happen under the wrong circumstances or environment in the future if exposed to a highly acidic environment or substance. There are many tips and suggestions that can be found online on how to keep your sterling silver jewelry from tarnishing or coloring your skin as it is a fairly common issue experienced by new ring owners.
