In Norse mythology, ravens were known as Odin’s eternal companions that he created to assist his wolves with their hunt. The first two ravens were named Hugin and Munin, memory and thought, were eyes and ears during Odin’s travels across the world. Amongst his many names Odin was also known as the raven lord and these birds of prey were highly regarded in Nordic society, often depicted on charms and drawings as a sign of wisdom and foresight.

The Valknut is an ancient Norse symbol, consisting of three interlocking triangles, often associated with the Viking Age and Norse mythology. Its name, derived from modern Norwegian, means "knot of the slain" and it is frequently linked to the god Odin and concepts of death, the afterlife, and warriors. The symbol has been found on rune stones, burial sites, and artifacts dating back to the early medieval period, particularly in Scandinavia. Though its exact meaning remains debated, the Valknut is thought to represent the connection between life, death, and the transition to the afterlife in Norse belief.
